Every time you speak to me
That's my inspiration
Every time we disagree
That's my inspiration
When troubles are many and friends are few
Those count as inspiration too

When you make me laugh until it hurts

Or when I cry out loud in sporadic spurts
That's also inspiration

To write these things without shame or doubt
Whether there's good and plenty or desperate drought
